how much boost does this turbo give the 1.6? from what i understand the B6t does 132hp and a stock b6 from a Capri does 105? 27hp i don't think that's right. anyone have a clue?

I believe the correct turbo is an IHI VJ14. I don't remember Mazda ever using Garrett as OEM.

Yes, those HP numbers are correct. I think it peaks around 12-15psi of boost. Boost pressure isn't the only factor in making power. It also has to provide significant flow, and the VJ14 is somewhat restrictive in that respect. Keep in mind, 27hp is 25% of 105hp. So a 25% increase in output is significant. Don't forget, HP isn't what's important, its torque.
