What would be involved in making an EFI car into a carbed one?

I'm curious if I could fit a nice carb on there...

Different tank, fuel pump, intake manifold. I checked on Rock Auto and the tank and pump are different for carbed and EFI Festys.
Possibly a carbed head? IDK about this, whether the carbed manifold will fit the EFI head.

Probably easiest to find a good donor carbed Festy.

i dont see why the carbed mani wouldent fit a efi head.. im thinking all you would need is the carb and manifold, keep the efi pump and run a fuel pressure regulator. Might need to use the carbed disty setup as well..

Why would the distributor care how the fuel was getting in? Would the FPR be able to handle going from EFI pressures, like 30 PSI or so, down to 4 or 5 PSI?

the carb setup cals for 2-5 fuel pressure.

the carb and efi heads are the same. the carb intake manifold bolts right on. there's also a plate on the back of the head that you remove to put on the fuel pump. plus the efi cam already has the lobe for the pump

different dist as well...i'm pretty sure it has to do with how it plugs in

don't have to bother with the dizzy, if you keep the EFI PCM, and run a carter carb (or the like), you'll run fine.

Hmmm this is sounding interesting. As in almost feasible. Would I need to swap the ECU as well?

nope, keep your EFI ECU (ecu=pcm), and run a simple carb (like off a pinto, or better yet, a 1.6 escort and lean the jets down by 2 to start). only thing stopping you is a manifold...

Im about to do the opposite swap on my 88 for better fuel mileage, reliability and power. Why do you want to swap?

My thoughts exactly, why switch to a carb'd set-up over EFI?
