X2... i've done 3 engine swaps so far all for a matter of a couple hundred bucks and the B6T is awesome and typically not that hard to do once you've done it, the wiring would be about the only ignorant part of it if you don't know what your doing

the BP swap, for wiring is ridiculously simple and you still get quite the kick out of your festiva, almost as powerful as the B6T

Or you could go balls out like i am and go KLZE :evil4: but thats way more involved

    1988 323 Station Wagon - KLG4 swapped
    1988 323 GT - B6T Powered
2008 Ford Escape - Rollover Survivor

1990 Festiva - First Ever Completed KLZE swap (SOLD)

If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?

B8 is an easy swap. Most powerful sohc. !03 hp/113 ft.lbs. Same torque as a bp. Can be done in a weekend. If someone put one in front of me with ALL the parts I needed. I'd say $250-$300 for the labor. I swapped a members car for that already.

And my b8-me with a td04 turbo @ 10 lbs. of boost still got 33 going to NC and back with a/c the whole time.

Instead of starting a new thread I figured I'd ask it here.
What are the average costs for the different Swaps. I personally want to get:
            5spd tranny
            B6T
But I'm interested in the average costs for the BP also. I realize it's different for everyone but I'd like to know ball park figures to know what I'm in store for.
            Including all the parts.

SPCbaker2006 My opinion on the B8 if you have those carbed cars and a rust bucket of an efi you have everyhting at your fingertips for a nice swap car all you need is the B8-me out of 90-94 protege dx and its computer

you have everything you need full efi dash, harnesses interior and engine , big nose crank pulley front cooling pipe you got it all efi tank and lines swap one of your cabr cars use everything from your 93 rust bucket and either keep or part out whats left of rust bucket

im getting high 30s just into 40s mpg B8 no turbo and its got plenty of power and least amount of modifications out of all swaps

B6T's are probally going to cost more for the single reason that they are older and less of them were made than the BP. On the otherside of things if you find the B6t you also found the trans & most importantly the jackshaft you need to complete the swap.

I thank you for your help with this and i will take it into serious consideration. I just wonder how hard its going to be to find a B8 in NC and the knowledge to pull off the swap. Im on my way home after a year in iraq i am finally making my way to the house so i will be strating on which ever choice i make soon. If anyone has experience with the B8 swap pls PM me. I will get back on in a few days once i get back to the states to see whats up thank you all for your help.
