  • Twin turbo or twin supers?

With the proper, compatible engine, tranny, and whatever else swap, do you think that twin turbo/twin superchargers/or possibly a turbo and supercharger combo is possible and can still be a daily driver?
I really want to be able to absolutely SMOKE just about anything else out there, all while still being able to drive it to school and work everyday and not having to worry about anything.

one turbo will do that no problem... no need for 2, its just extra weight....

With that set up in a Festy the only thing you will smoke is the tires.

What about if I take out the same amount of weight equal to the two or just one turbo?

take that wieght out and the only put in one turbo... then its even better lol... the only thing that i would try is twin charging (turbo and supercharger) or compounding turbos (one small and one big turbo) both are going to give you the quick spool of a small turbo or supercharger and big top end power of a big turbo... but with the amount of torque it would put out it would just break the tires loose all the time, it wouldnt make for a nice DD...

Hmmmm, so now that my second turbo idea is out of the way, what sort of turbo would be the best, price not being of importance?

All depends on what you want and how much engineering and fabbing you want to do. There have been some really cool builds of just throwing whatever is available together and making it work. Kind of like any thing goes. Dare to be different is cool. Its just you're more on you own with it. If you want easier swap and shorter up and run time look into a B6T swap. lots more support to get it going.

Do you mean fastest on the strip? Adding alot more power you will always be trying to get better traction. A good mix of speed and power and still be a daily driver would be a BP or B6T swap.

maybe if you had a cobra. you could get a hellion hellraiser kit. It adds twin turbos while utilizing the factory supercharger. BUT even still just turbos with no supercharger made much more effecient power. MM&FF magazine tested this. id imagine itd be fun to drive but make less power. more isnt always better. Do a B6T swap and you will be way more than happy! Look for a capri xr2. perfect donor

1991-94 Mercury Capri XR2 for one. Read these posts. There is tons of valueable info here. It will answer alot of your questions better. Did you find a Festy? They usually sell for cheap in your area.

Should I buy another, better turbo to replace the Capri turbo? that's the the "T" in B6T means right? Turbo?
