5th gear swap?size?

so was pullin a rear aspire beam today and there was an old probe 5spd there so i pulled the end cap off hope to score a 5th gear conversion but my tool kit didn't have a socket big enough....any idea what size a guy should bring?

depends on the probe, and what trans you are swapping the 5th gear into. going into a G-series? and is it a non-turbo 1st get probe? if its not a 1st gen its the same gear as in your stock G-series.

For the G series is the 626 5th gear that everyone goes for. I put one in my trans. Its .71 and the capri 5th is .8

the size of the nuts holding the 5th gears in my Probe V6 tranny is 27mm & 32mm (i've taken apart many G series tranny's now :lol

Although my spare tranny's nuts are both 32mm, i'm not sure why the difference between my two tranny's, but if you bring both size sockets you'll be prepared

Theres a guy at teamcapri selling the gear sets for $65 if you wanna go the easy route.

Turbo cars have a h series trans you need a non turbo one.
