  • EFI to carb swap

Yes, I know, most people go the other way, but I'm about to get a fuelie Festiva, and I want to do an old school style carb'd setup on the B3. Has anyone done this swap before? I'm going to be removing all of the emissions systems (Hawaii doesn't test for it, so why have it?) and I want to build up the engine the way so many people here have built up their old KE25 Corolla's and the like with such success. Without having the car in front of me, I'm not entirely sure what specifically to ask about, but I'm curious of any known snags I could run into with this. Thanks a mill-

well you'd need to swap out the gas tank and distributer and thats about it for parts. just get an adapter plate made and bolt on a weber, run the fuel line and tune it. have fun!

      Vega

I have had great luck with the Chevy Vega carb on my Festiva. I put in a 1972 rebuilt one on my car. (Mine started as carb'd, and I dropped in a carb'd B6, so it's a little different situation, but that is a good carb). Make sure you get an early model on though early 70's so it doesn't have any polution control stuff.

Yes, same 5200 everyone uses. Didn't even need to rejet for the B6. You can't load it up or anything. Perfect fuel delivery.
