  • how to enhance power of my kia pride B1 engine?

    good day!!

beside engine swapping, what other options to enhance my engine performance?it's a kia pride B1 1.1 SOHC engine(8v)..what are the main part of the engine to modify just to have an extra power?carb, coil, pistons or some other part that boost power to the engine performance?

    thanks!

No offense but, if you can't afford a B3 then you shouldn't be modding your car.

First off, welcome to the site Doi-doi!

The majority of the members here don't have much experience with the B1 since that model engine was never available in the US, so we don't know much about modding them. However, given their similarity to the B3 (which we have tons of) if you search around for info on modding the B3 I'd be willing to bet that a lot of that could also be applied to the B1. Do you have any pics of your engine you could share in the Photo Gallery section? A lot of us think the B1 is a cool engine, especially since most of us have never seen one in person.

Why not? I have plenty of people that tell me over the years that if I can't afford a better car then I shouldn't be modding a Festiva... but we all do it anyway. And don't forget, not all of us have engine cranes, a garage, and the experience to just go swapping engines on a whim. Maybe it is his DD and he just can't really afford the downtime required for an engine swap.
                No festiva for me ATM...

I've never heard of a B1..... I'd like to learn about it just because it's interesting to see something that wasn't available in the US

                    A lot of the B engines weren't available here.. B1, BJ, B5, BPT, BPD....I'm sure there's more.

Yes, we are lame, with our wimpy B selection.

It's much cheaper to do little things whenever you can than to do a swap all at once.
Any difference that makes no difference is no difference.

^ yep, not to mention most little things require the car to be off the road for more than a couple of hours, a lot less time than a swap takes. Unless you've done a couple before.

Theres no problem with the modding a festy, it's just that B3's are free or like $50.

^^^ thats true around here... but are you gonna ship him one to the philipines? That'd be like some guy from Japan asking us US folk why we BUILD BPTs when you can get them straight out of Familia GTX ready to go... Just saying.
