  • Fuel Injection to Carb conversion

I'm ditching the electric crap on my project and I want to go carb. I can make an intake manifold so I'm good there. What kind of regulator would allow me to keep the in tank fuel pump while putting off the 6 or so psi needed to run a carb? Is the festy ignition capable of running without ecu input?

Try a Holley bypass regulator. Most of the gas will go back down the return line to the tank.

P.S. I have an extra set of twin carbs.

The distributor from the carbed Festiva and an ordinary 12 volt coil is all you need to make it run. Connect a hot wire to the + side of the coil and one wire to each side of the coil from the distributor. Make sure you connect the correct wires to the correct sides of the coil that come from the distributor. And drop your fuel pressure to about 3 psi or a little higher. 6 psi may be enough pressure to push the float needle off its seat and flood the carb. I run 3-1/2 psi on the Escort carbs we use.

        Will a Festy disty fit a B6D?

I'm not sure about the "D" model, but I've used the Festiva carbed distributor on the B6, B6-ME, and the B8-ME. These are all SOHC engines.

anomoly, did you complete this project?

My twin carbies purr like a kitten at 400 rpm and roar like a lion when I stomp on the gas.

            What a blast!
I highly recommend reducing the pump speed with a resistor. It is very easy to install.
