  • rough idle

on my 91 festiva with a b6, was running great untill a day ago, it sounds like it has a mean cam in it a idle( but hasnt stalled) no engine codes present, also when at crusing speed you gently apply the throttle and it like it hesitates thru the rpm range,

Checked the usual suspects,( pcv, plug wires dizzy) all have been changed recently. i am thinking maybe a tps sensor??

I am at a loss, any input is greatly appreciated!

    Thanks Fellas

try cleaning the usual things mass air flow sensor and idle air control to see if that improves the idle.

An air filter might do it too. Everytime my truck starts to idle rough I pull off the cone, blow it out with an air compressor, wash it out, let it dry over night, blow it out again and put it in. the idle problem goes away. eventually i buy a new filter but washing it out seems to be working....fyi i say cone cause its a cold air intake system.

ok so here is an up date. I check out the intake manifold gasket with brake cleaner to see if i have a vacuum leak, nothing
          checked my vacuum lines, nothing.
          check VAF and nothing,
checked the Throttle body gasket, nothing
I am going to check the air filter,

But i am leaning toward an engine sensor.

where on earth is the IAC sensor on this thing???
