  • Turbo 1.6 or no turbo

Ok so I found a 1.6 like I put in another post but I come into a deal where a guy has a turbo 1.6 mercury capri he said I could get the motor and wiring for $200 but the none turbo I can get for $125. What should I do? And keep in mind this is just a daily driver not being built for racing of any kind.

Is $200 a good price for it?

Is the N/A B6 SOHC? How much work do you wanna put into this? If you just want a bit more pep, a SOHC B6 is good and very simple. If you want speed then you could go B6T, but you may blow a stock tranny. I'm doing a B6T swap and will be using a G series tranny and custom mounts. Check the engine swaps section here.

B6T without question and then if you're doing that, upgrade the trans and brakes as well with parts from the donor.

I think im going to go with the non turbo motor I just drive to and from work in the car and dont need a lot of speed I would like some more power but not tire roasting power just enough to get on the highway comfortably plus the non turbo is $125 so that leaves me with more money to rebuilt it.
