Shifter bushing question

My shifter is really really loose, moves all over the place. Turns out the bushing where the shift rod end and the shifter meet is gone. What is the bushing made of? I plan to make a new one at work but need to know what to make it out of. I have aluminum, steel, bronze, and nylon available.

Nylon, will give more vibration from the tranny. But would make shifting more precise. If you can get urethane machine that to size works better than nylon for vibration absorption.

Made a bushing out of nylon today at work. What an improvement. The shifter is really crisp. I'll have to wait a month or so longer to find out if I get more vibration from the tranny thru this bushing.
