  • OBD2 dum dum dah!(dramatic music)

In Australia things are a little weird. Festiva's came out in 90-93 but they were all carburetor motors. Then in 94 i believe they brought out the second gen festiva (aspire) which i believe in Australia only came with the obd2 1.3 efi engine.

Im acquiring an aspire parts car (1998), which im almost certain will be obd2. So i guess im going to switch my festiva to obd2 which is a little scary but i thought id put this post up to get some info that anybody has on these obd2 engines. The engine has a maf system which is going to help me on my other project.

    Thankyou for all input.

    Nick.

Should be able to swap the engine, harness, and computer and be good to go.

Ahh, not so fast. The Au "second gen". WB, WD, WF, festy's 93-96 came with either a 1.3 OR a 1.5
as did the so called "third gen" 97 to 02. But you're right about the fuel injection. The year
designations may be wrong, I got this from wiki.

You're onto it i've done some reading and most of them follow this rule. The 3 doors have the 1.3l and the 5 doors and the l.5. Im picking up a 3 door.

Fingers crossed i can just swap everything over.

And the wf (1997 up) don't have obd2.

Was not a requirement by ADR rule. My scan tool doesn't like the diagnostic port, will try with a more generic one in few weeks when I'm not on the road with work.
