  • BP into auto aspire

Picking up an automatic aspire with a siezed engine for $175. What's involved in swapping a BP in? Its an obd-I car.

The cars in beater shape but I'd like to get it running. Later on down the line I can Yank the BP back out and part/scrap it.

if it's OBD-I I bet it isn't much different than swapping into a Festy, other than it may be easier because I hear they have more room in the bay

Are the ecu's different since some had abs and airbags? Might want to check the connections first.

The ABS and airbags may have their own ECU's. That's the way many other cars are set up.

Well what about, say, the different maf/vaf connectors and such?

I got my info from nerdracing . You need the egt harness you will use the complete big plug side of that harness then splice like seven or so wires into the small side . He was building the complete harness for fifty bucks . He has all the info you will need .
New build on the way .

I want to know how the auto does with the BP. I'd sure rather have a manual trans but a BP swap is quite enticing...

I was hoping Aaron would chime in. I know he did a BP aspire.

So it wont run on the aspire harness? I have a festy harness at my disposal too.

if your swapping a BP into an aspire, get a '94 miata ECU and the harness should match up pin for pin (except the egr valve which the BP and Miata don't have)

Ok....that takes care of the ECU. What about everything under the hood? Sensors and such...use aspire stuff? Use Miata MAF?

Can this be confirmed? Miata pinout and aspire pinout 1994-1995 are virtually the same?
