Because Kia can't be searched on the site, from what I've read the 01-02 Rio had G series axles that eliminate the elusive XR2 midshaft. Is this Kia "G" trans a true G trans that will bolt up to say a BP, if so, is it cable or hydro. I'm prepping for a BP swap and am going to upgrade the tranny, but don't want to mess with the hydro stuff. If this Kia trans doesn't work then I have to go track down an F series from a Pro or 323, preferably the pro, because I hear it has a taller final drive and 5th gear for mileage.
    Thanks heaps

its hydro for sure. not so sure on the axles though. Also not even sure if it will bolt up to a B-series mazda.

Protege and 90+323's are all hydro as well man. sorry to rain on your parade but it will save you some time in the long run knowing what you are looking at.

80's 323's. just make sure they are 5 speeds and not 4.

turbo cars are G-series non turbo are F series.

Kellen302 KIA Rio 00 to 02 five speed trans will bolt to a bp . The axles fit just fine and yes they replace the hard to find halfshaft . It is a g series set up trans as far as axle splines and internals but uses an f series clutch . They should be common at local yards due to people not changing timing belts and bending all the engine valves . The mounts will bolt to your crossmember very easy with no welding fab work . All that needs done is redrill holes in the xmember. As for torque steer problems there are some but not nearly as bad with the stock trans . I'm running a b6t with this set up and have no problems at all .. And yes later down the road I plan to switch to the halfshaft set up and it is a direct bolt in due to being the same length and spline count .. Fact !!! It bolts to the b6t so it will bolt to the bp !! And yes it is a CABLE trans !!! Pm me if any more info is needed
