      Which line on the FPR?

The one that goes directly to the intake. Just follow the hoses back to the big aluminum manifold at the back of the engine.

the FPR is a small silver can on the fuel injector rail. It has a vacuum line entering the center of the top. Follow that hose back to its vacuum nipple on the intake. Disconnect the FPR line from the intake, install a 1-2ft piece of small dia vacuum hose on the nipple, and sbmerge the other end into the fluid AFTER starting the engine.

This thing is pretty tiny right? Could be mistaken for a lawnmower sized fuel filter?

Got it, thanks. By the looks of the thing, it probably needs to go. Looks baaaad.

Wasnt the sensor on the airbox. I'll change the regulator in a couple days. Yesterday when I started it, she kicked and sputtered around for a couple minutes at about 400 rpm, paused for a sec, then resumed the 400 rpm BS for a minute, then quit. Restarted it, and gently added a little bit of gas and it ran ok. More or less.

They want 90$ for that stupid little thing.:eeeeeek:

I'll use one I had from a different motor.

Wanted to add if you score this aspire engine or any other one in the future, use the correct oil pan, throw nothing away or send to scrap until your car is running. I just read a horror story on here about that. I wasn't aware, I could have made the same mistake. I could see an engine shop making this mistake, tossing parts then blaming YOU for it and make you go buy another pan at some scalper's markup. Id get a friend or 3 to lend a hand and take a gamble with a used engine, preferably a 1.6.

Thanks for the heads up. I dont throw anything away, learned that the hard way. As soon as you do, you'll need it lol. This is why I have the fuel pressure regulator and the air sensor. The regulator was 90, and the airbox sensor was IIRC, 175$. Saved a fortune this time. I'll install the regulator and use the sea foam tonight or tomorrow.

Im so glad to have found this place.

Hopefully it just needs some tlc and a good clean out. I'd also try misting water into the intake for the top end, and the seafoam for the rings. Go to 5w-20 cheapest oil you can find, change it an extra time and report back.

                              Why 5-20?

I wouldn't put it in with your oil if you have a high mileage engine, unless you want a "spun" bearing. But I'm the guy trying to get you to "hydro-lock" your engine using a procedure I've used on 3 different vehicles. So, do what you think is right
