  • Escort carb on the stock 88 4spd festy.

Finally got the escort carb installed on our festy in place of the stocker. It started up and purred at idle. Have a little back firing out the carb when you goose it issue, especially when cold. Also the car doesn't have a lot of pep when you accelerate on the road, might be the advance. When i turn it off after driving, it does diesel for a bit. Will try reinstalling the anti diesel valve that i took off.
Sure does look good in there without all the gobledegook. Also have to figure out how to get the electric choke that came on the carb to work. The stock fuel pump is working fine, though All of a sudden the temp gauge quit working??

I am not 100% certain, but I think the temp sender with the single spade terminal that is located in the thermostat housing, sends the signal to the gage cluster. Check to see if it is unplugged or loose.

Carb is a fresh rebuild from Holley.
Not much to see anymore, literally.

was it a direct bolt on? what vacuum lines did you need to keep and where did you attatch them? what did you do for an air cleaner?
