    the 2nd diff with the welded pin lost its gears punching a nice window into the inner workings... you were the first hydro trans in the fastiva...you will be missed

    :edit:

    on the plus side if some one wants to buy a hydro conversion cross member i can mock mine up for a jig while its out...

        hey i welded this in... crappy pic bit the welds have been sheared off...


        when i was shaking the trans to get it off the motor these fell out of the hole in the bottom

        silly spider gear... what are you doing outside the diff?
        I know its a piece of crap but im still faster...and its 100% legal!!!!!

          You can see the gears galled the shaft... too much one wheel wondering. No matter how much you weld that pin in the galling will still shred it

                  how good were the welds?

                          No amount of TIG'ing will prevent the problem, it's not a matter of retaining the shaft - it's a matter of prventing the shaft from having a load on it in the first place.

                          Gears galled to the shaft will eventually bust through any welds - that's not a "fix"

                            ahhhhh i just assumed as long as the pin stayed in the chances of it shattering were slim to none.
