  • Megasquirt PNP for the Festiva!

I just checked my facebook and DIYautotune is going to be releasing a Plugnplay Megasquirt II based stand-alone for the Festiva!.

I would like everyone's input on what they think of this, as I am dead set on putting this in Project Phoenix(spelled it right that time )

    Here is the link http://www.megasquirtpnp.com/

I look forward to everyone's input on this.

it's just a minor alteration of the miata unit they already have. but good to know it'll have a good base tune on it from factory to get things running.

That is exactly why I want it. I am just now learning about MS and this would help out so much instead of me having to make a calibration from scratch.

      Also, thanks for the reply.

So this would also apply to the Aspire?
90 Festy (Larry)--B6M (Matt D. modified B6 head), header, 5-speed, Capri XR2 front brakes, many other little mods
09 Kia Rondo--a Festy on steroids!

I assume it would. I believe the drivetrain is the same. (Correct me if I am wrong)

if it's anything like what their Miata product is we should all get one. Unfortunately with a stock PNP system you'll still be limited to the Festiva setup (distributor based single coil ignition, VAF air metering ect, ect). But for all but the most dedicated HP freaks out there, it will be exactly what we need. Watch the gas misers eat this up!

Tom, it would work for the 94-95 models but you'll need to somehow do something with the EGR system, and the 96-97 years will need a piggyback to allow for proper OBDII operation.

You do not need the VAF. It has a map sensor built in so you can remove the VAF. The only thing you have to do is wire in a separate IAT to the stock harness and you're done.

Right, mine are both 95s. I refuse to buy any cars after that year just to avoid emissions regulations complications. Here in MO they only test emissions starting with 1996/OBD-II.

I was thinking of rear turbo and megasquirt for the B3 Aspire. Two profiles, one for economy and one for power, switchable with a laptop. Economy mode goal would be 50 MPG in my 85-mile normal test loop, at 60 MPH. Power mode goal would be 110 crank HP or 95 wheel HP.

What sort of thing would I have to do with the EGR? Couldn't it just be capped/disabled?

what is the difference between the mspnp unit and stratified auto's ecu?

they are both the same unless the MSPNP is cheaper?

I have a MSPNP on my miata and i love it.
