  • MSD SCI-L questions.

Has anyone used a MSD style ignition on a festy? Going to dig thru the books soon, but hoped a local has already done the hard work...

yea, i have a streetfire unit on Scrappy, fairly easy hookup, not too sure it was worth it though. you need to have a really cood coil to take advantage of what the MSD can do, so if you have a stock coil, swap it out for an aftermarket canister style unit first.

So you did not need the signal booster? Manual mentioned if the crank trigger was shared by the fuel system, the signal would be to weak. I know the pump relay in in the vaf, but was unsure about the injectors.

Oh no, I think we are on two different subjects here. I have two options on my street fire, I can use a single white wire and hook into to a "spark amplifier" or a two wire jig to be used with a magnetic pickup. The msd book says 'most' FI cars will use the single white wire. I have been on the fence or a while now how and where to hook mine up. Write ups have been difficult to find,

Ok, I'm an idiot. Never read such simple instructions. I read those darn sheets a dozen times, and never understood that I needed to just use the wires going to the stock coil. I'm such a dumdum.
