  • b3 capri

my grandfather totaled his festiva last week. he ran off the road trying to avoid a deer and slid ass end into a tree. the motor still runs. he was wondering if it would be feesible to put the b3 in his capri (blown turbo b6) he knows it would be slow but it would save him from scraping the capri

It would bolt to the tranny but you would probably need to fabricate a motor mount and use the wiring from the festiva. You would need to use parts from both cars but I am sure it could be done if you are a decent mechanic. Then you could take the blown B6T and rebuild it for yourself!

I wonder what the difference in weight would be between the capri and festiva. The capri is a little smaller and more aerodynamic.. I would think the capri would get the better mpg.

My guess is Capris weigh in at about 2200 to 2300 pounds (or more). Talk about a slug. Aspires are around 2000 pounds.

I wonder why so heavy? The aspire's gearing makes up for that extra weight.. so I don't notice much difference between the two. My ex had a capri and unless it has to do with the extra bracing being a convertiable.. makes me wonder.

its because it a convertible, any well built convertable will weigh more than it coup counterpart (if it has one) it is simply extra bracing for rigidity and what-not.... i hate it when companys add a conv. to there line like the olds cutlass (early nineties) and late eighties cavalier by just chopping the top and not doing the neccessary restructuring, not to mention dangerous. i got a chance to test drive a conv olds cutlass and it handled like crap, even in comparrison to its sedan brother/
