The first and second gen Kias (00-06 i think) had the same transmission, and no, they AREN'T a g series transmission. The case looks more like an F series, but it does have the right axels for a G series (minus jackshaft), 26 spline inner/22 spline outter. The ring gear/differential bolts and the gearsets are NOT the same.
the 94-96 Kia Sephias are rumored to have a G series hydro transmission, wether they're really the same internally or not.....who knows.Last edited by zoom zoom; 03-16-2012, 01:55 AM.2008 Kia Rio- new beater

Those year Sehias do have a G-series, it is hydro clutch and it uses a 28 spline axle. You would have to do a diff swap to use it.Originally posted by zoom zoom View PostThe first and second gen Kias (00-06 i think) had the same transmission, and no, they AREN'T a g series transmission. Will the Kia Rio MTX fit a Festiva and bolt up to a B series engine? Using standard Rio or Festiva axles? I'm still not clear on this. If so it would make a nice newer, stronger cable actuated MTX to use with minimal work, right? Or is this definitely a no go?
