    I believe it was polished aluminum. It was too light for steel, but if it was cast, all the casting flash was polished off.

      I've read some other posts about cheap shifters from ebay braking, but more the $1 ones. The only thing I can think of is that the casting either has voids in it or the material used is really brittle, maybe leftover dirty aluminum from other castings. I do not trust random cast aluminum products that are meant to be structural, unless there is a real company standing behind the product.

      Not to say that yours will break, just a word of caution.

          to install a shortshifter i read on one of the post a acura integra short shifter would work only thing is i have no idea how to install it any ideas
