Cruise control!!!

Lets start at the beginning. Four years ago, I purchased a incomplete AudioVox cc 100 cruise control kit from a garage sale. It did not include the vacuum servo which had the computer or any installation instructions. All other components were present and in perfect condition. These parts sat in my various storage units for the next four years.
Yesterday at the PnP, I was searching for a upper timing cover for my B8 swap. I was fighting a busted up old cover on a 90 Protege when I noticed a aftermarket CC kit had been installed. I quickly looked in the cab and saw it was the same kit!! Since I did not have the install manual, or for that matter even thought about it for years, I did not know what parts I need to complete my kit. So I spent one hour and took it all. Count another hour today digging thru parts bins in the storage unit, 30 mins of internet research to find the manual, and now I have a complete kit!! Looks to be a very straight forward install.
Can't wait for the time to get it done. Will be a blast to have cruise!!

Gotta be a at Brothers house in 2 hours to work out.....

Actuator dip switch locations for tach signal only
sw1 on/up
sw2 off/down
sw3 off/down
sw4 off/down
sw5 off/down
sw6 off/down
sw7 on/up

Main harness
Blue wire- neg coil (yellow single contact?)
Grey/black- Magnet pick up (not used right now, may need after coil only test)
Purple- Brake light switch GN/R
Red- Brake light switch GN/W
Black w/eyelet- Chassis ground
In line fuse
Orange- Switched 12v BK/Y from back of fuse block
Red- to 4 pin connector

Switch
Red- 4 pin
Brown- 4 pin
Green- 4 pin
Yellow- 4 pin
Black- chassis ground
Grey- R/GN from back of fuse block (switch light)

Broke out the EVTS and figured out all the wiring for the install.
Gotta get showered for Bro's

Off to my my Step-Dads' place to get the new cruise control installed. I'm timing it at 1h 30m. I did all the leg work last night in the EVT book. So no excuses.

Done and done

First things first, inventory...


Then fitting fitting the servo...


Next I worked on mounting the control panel...




Almost done with that step...


And done...


Next we spend 20 mins under the dash in the rarly used 'Twisted LugNut yoga Positon' to work the main harnesses in....


I did not take many photos of the harness install as I was preocupied and forgot. But I ran the main loom thru the opening the evap drain tube used to run out, then behind the heater core, under the carpet and I used two retainers to secure it to the clutch start switch that I deleted after the atx to man swap. I think it all looks very clean. You will just have to take my word for it.

Now on to the linkage.... I don't wanna talk about it. It was supposed be the simple part but got WAY out of hand. In the end, it looks and works well...


And finally all done...


A test drive later to prove the sytem and I have a working Cruse Control in my Festiva.

thats neat. i was looking into one for my aspire over in fordaspire.com and saw one that for the throttle body linkage he filed down the grove and sat in just like it was supposed to but do you have any problems as far as the linkage moving and what not?

No probs with the linkage other looking getto.

It is Rpm based, holds speed very well.
