  • B6t turbo on bp questions

I put a bp in my festiva. Went to the junk yard today an found a Capri turbo. Took the entire kit off it but the intake manifold. So my questions are, is it safe to run the turbo kit on the stock bp ecu with the stock bp injectors or even with the Capri injectors at stock boost levels, or do I need to get the intake manifold as well an do the hole harness ecu conversion like doing a regular b6t swap? Any info would be great thanks.

If you run the b6t injectors harness and rocketman ecu then build an exhaust manifold and find a bigger turbo it will work yes !
New build on the way .

I know a guy running a boosted BP off the stock BP ECU, he used an rx7 VAF and tuned it to work and he's been running it like that for a couple years

        1988 323 Station Wagon - KLG4 swapped
        1988 323 GT - B6T Powered
2008 Ford Escape - Rollover Survivor

1990 Festiva - First Ever Completed KLZE swap (SOLD)

If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?

            Lol.

Alright. First off, the B6T manifold won't bolt to the BP. The intake won't bolt up either. It's a totally different engine.

Second, the VJ14 is too small for the B6T. It's way too small for the BP. It'll choke the engine.

You could run the BP on B6T electronics and injectors, I am doing this, a few others have as well. It's not ideal but it definitely works

edit: am I forgetting which day it is?

Bp is a good engine ,lately I've been running a 5 hp shop vac ( craftsman ) with the hose on backwards . It works of the cig lighter ,only bad thing is I had to stop smoking . It's a lot cheaper then all the wiring from those apex systems .
Oh and I also found an old battery charger and wired it up . Then put both clamp ends in a homer five gal bucket full of water ( this makes steam ) . Then I put a lid on it with a hose that connects to the inlet on my shop vac . This works awesome now I can run the vac on high .

                  Happy fools day guys
New build on the way .

Right now I'm entertaining the ideal of cutting the flag part off the turbo manifold and cutting the bottom of the Bp man off and wielding it together. Hmmmmmm.....

Still wont work. The BP is physically longer than the B6T...

A VJ14 would be horrible on a BP anyway. Peak boost at less than 2000 rpm and it would start to choke by 4000 easy.

Lol dude, it's not worth the headache of cutting and welding that cast iron for such a tiny turbo. Go back to the yard and at least find a turbo ford probe, it has a VJ11 turbo. The exhaust side A/R is a much better match to the engine and the compressor is the same size that came on the JDM BPT

For around $100 you can get a bolt on castiron turbo manifold, check ClubProtege.com for sale section. You can mod a VJ11 to fit it or find a T3 adapter plate and run a T3 turbo

I noticed the side of the turbo said IHI. Is this the same Turbo as the vj14 you're talking about. An if I can fo to a junk yard an find a turbo off another car with the same turbo mount size I would def do that. Turbos at the yard are only 45$. Anyone know of other turbos off other cars besides a probe, like Saab or something, that would fit the turbo mount on the manifold?and cutting and wielding wouldn't cost me anything. Lol can't beat free
