Tomorrow I pull the engine

Okay so tomorrow I pull the engine and tranny out of the parts car(festiva), because I need the tranny for my 1.8. Im really pushing my luck getting this done intime for the Ohio meet, I hope god's on my side. Anyways. I have never pulled the engine before, is there anyway I can just drop the tranny out from underneither without worring about the engine? This seems like its would be a hella quicker, but not sure.

Any help is appreciated.

The engine only has one mount. You might be able to support it and drop the x-member, but it's probably easiest to just pull the engine and tranny in one unit.
