  • mspnp 90-93 Miata, Is there any way i can use it on my festiva?

Hey All, I need advice from you wiring/festiva gurus.

So i just got a killer killer deal on a used mspnp 90-93 ecu and rc 550cc injectors.. i mean killer deal.

Is there any possible way i can make the ecu+injectors work on my festiva? With a wiring alteration or something of that nature?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

I think the injectors would be a massive overkill on a b3, but you need to find a wiring diagram for a miata and compare it to the Festy pinouts, I'm not sure what is different. Youll want the iat sensor that came with the ms unit too if you can get it.

The ignition systems are different, it can be re-configured to work with a dizzy though. I'm going to guess there are other differences in pinouts too

I forgot to mention some important stuff..

Stock festiva wiring harness, stock b6ze miata motor (motor i have going into the car).

The goal is to run a gt2860r at around 14-15lbs of boost just like the miata guys and make around 250-270whp....

Im thinking the ignition system will be completely different not sure of the pin outs though... think they are just too different.

I believe there would be quite a difference in the wiring harnesses, the miata runs a CAS, ignition coils however the fuel injection is the same, temp sensors, o2 everything else is the same..

just go to the junk yard and chop some miata plugs off a harness before it gets scrapped... take your old b3 ecu and open it up, stick it in a vice and heat up the pins with a torch, the solder will melt and the plug will pull off the board... figgure out what wires go where then run wires between the two plugs and plug it in... easy...

sounds like alot of work and a very high potential for a messup,

i may just keep this as a spare for my miata, and by one for a festiva.

Those numbers have gotta be on a BP motor. I think you're turning these bit's and pieces of information you've got into a "info hybrid" mess. Slow down a little, you've got quite the geek going on here. The BP is a quite a bit stronger engine, and loaded with a disco potato, what's it being used for? The street, the drag strip, rally, dyno queen? What's your goal.
They stick T-25's, GT25's and 2860's on 2 LITER motors, see where I'm going with that?

The MSPNP already has the Miata/Festiva plugs in it. It has an internal breakout board for you to wire the MS board to the plug board, so no changes are needed to the harness

All of the nd64 boards do, but you have to solder your circuits, and install the firmware and buy the software, and buy the tuningstudioms online. PnP units are made vehicle specific with firmware preloaded and software in the box, but you still have to buy/register tunerstudioms. The same pins are there as long as its a PnP unit with the nd64 socket, but when you do that you need to go back and buy their kit to make new circuits and test them, if you have a ms board capable of what your trying to do, some things take an extra daughter card. Best bet if you buy a premade is to make you motor run like the motor its designed for by switching to that motors electronics.
