It would be much easier to start with a 90 and up car.

I'm going to do the carbed to bp swap. Im just going to pull the whole wiring harness and ecu from the donor (escort gt In my case). There's been a few that have done it, but mostly with a b6t for some reason. Flyin4stroke has done it and he seems pretty knowledgeable on the subject. I believe mentals build was a carb originally too. I'm thinkin it shouldn't be too bad. Planning on going to the jy tomorrow to get some of my stuff.
89 L, hopefully returning from the dead soon with a little more power...

^yup the whole wireing harness if your going to swap the carby. You could get a megasquirt and go from scratch for a couple hundred.

^ the b6t it's a little bit more writing than the bp swap on an efi tiva. Maybe thats why peeps go to b6t from carb because they have to swap so much stuff out.

Percho is rite, if you could find a cheap 90 and on wireing on the swap is plug and play for the most part and just 2 more wires for the vics to work. Try to find a efi she'll or one with a blown motor my bp car started with just a clean shell I bought for 300, no suspension no motor/trans no drivers seat no steering wheel... You get the point. It will save you slot of headache if you find an efi.

-90 festiva - surf blue (undetermined destiny) wanna keep but wifey says noooooooo
