The easiest way would be to install an electrical pressure gauge. A mechanical gauge would require you to actually bring the oil pressure into the inside of the car to the gauge via tubing. There would be more chances for leaks with a mechanical gauge. If you are going to keep your old gauge and sending unit, then you will need a "T" fitting to attach to the block where your current sending unit is located. Make sure you get the right size fittings. You may also need a "close nipple" fitting to move the "T" far enough away from the block for clearance for the sending unit. If you are just replacing the current sending unit with the new one, then you wouldn't need the "T" fitting.
On our race cars, we use the "T" fitting with a mechanical gauge connected via a flexible stainless steel line and a low oil pressure sending unit for a light. The gauge is mounted in the dash with the low oil warning light mounted directly above it. That way if you suddenly lose oil pressure, the light attracts your attention to check the gauge. You gonna race that thing?

as far as aftermarket guages go, you cant go past autometer. best guages made in my opinion.
