  • v8?

Has anybody ever swapped in a v8 or even a v6?

I just thought I would ask because that would be ridiculously cool.

or I think there's some elusive member on here that did a swap with a K something or other... *sarcasm* find Damkid's build thread, he's got a KLZE in his, still FWD and he's in the process of throwing a hairdryer on it.
      Owner of:
1991 Red Festiva L, 5 speed (Swagger Wagon)
      In progress:
BP+G25MR swap, Kia rio axles hopefully.

2008 Ford Escape - Rollover Survivor

1990 Festiva - First Ever Completed KLZE swap (SOLD)

If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?

Its a KL-ZE... A mazda K series engine that can be paired with a G-series transmission. That allows a V6 swap without custom axles and the like.

              G-series = Kia, right?

No G series = mazda. Its the same as the G series on BPs in EGTs and Protege LXs. Only difference is the bell housing shape.

G-series = a whole lot of stuff. Specifically it's a stock V6 trans (probe, 626, etc) with a 4-cylinder differential (323 GT, Capri XR2, etc) so the axles will fit into it. The axles are different on the V6 transmission.

                    Indeed

Everyone seemed to like the Ford Festiva powered by a rear mounted Chevy V8 driving the front wheels. So here's the video. As expected, it features such knockout classics as front wheel reverse donuts and the ever- popular chocked wheel burnout till tire explosion. Just to spice things up, cabin smoke choking driver…

Man, the things they can do with Photoshop nowadays! Almost looks like someone actually shoe-horned a V6 into a Festiva....then added a turbo!
No one in their right mind would ever try such a crazy idea...
