  • Intake manifold flange

Anyone know someone that can make one, and how much they'd charge me for it?

I dont' care if it's injection molded plastic, aluminum, steel, hypo-nucleic carboxy alloy, or tin-nickel, as long as it'll seal. (I'd actually prefer 3/8" HDPE plastic, honestly.)

I wanna get started on the IC project so I don't get frustrated and tear this OE carb apart and waste time fixing it when I'm just gonna change it out anyway.

I only need the flange with the holes in the proper orientation, I'll be bonding runners to it to position the openings to accept the carbs.

I have a scroll saw and a table-top drill press, but I'm lazy. Period.

HDPE (High Density Polyethylene) is not a good candidate for this application. It's HDT value is likely too low. A PC-ABS alloy might be better, but aren't these typically made from a thermo-set material?

Find a waterjet cutting equiped machineshop in your area, and just bring them the gasket. I have mine cut by a guy in California, but that's because the comany my wife works for does business with them, so I don't pay anything for the shipping. They've cut my exhaust manifolds and turbo flanges out of 3/8" 304 stainless.

I might be able to come up with an aluminum one for you if the other options don't work out. What carbs are you going to use?

Not totally sure what carbs yet. I was gonna use two set from Ninja 250, they're 30mm throat, but I also have a set from a ZX6 somewhere, but they need rebuilt and fire that cost, I can probably scavenge something better suited.

The soles of the innocent. lol.

Check with the Australian market (eBay Aus, or PM Aussies on this site). They have a lot of different carb manifold combinations that we never saw here. Same thing with pacific island markets. If you could get a manifold for a side draft webber, that would be ideal and easy to jet.

Sorry, jumped the gun, neither of those will fit the B3, but you get the idea, there may be one like that for a B3 out there.

I got told it was ABS. HDPE wont melt, but it wont keep its shape at anything approaching 200° fahrenheit.

Ill probably end up being less lazy sometime, especially if I keep working the pipeline as a guard. Long nights and hand tools..
