In that case, why stop at one rack. With some ingenuity one could mount a subframe in the rear with another electric rack and have 4 wheel steering! I can see you doing this Movin!

Wow. And all this started with a 'motorcycle hand clutch' idea. Never have been a biker and I've always enjoyed the hand shift /foot pedal relationship with manual transmissions in cars. I can't see improving on it either.
Perhaps there are those among us that can't walk and chew gum at the same time. I dunno.
Anyway I do enjoy hearing from folks that propose new ideas.

Why stop at hydraulic? I say we get ourselves a pneumatic shift setup. It would sound cooler than Jesus having a rock off with Satan

This is the only possible reason why anyone would want to do this

Think about shifting like that, you'd need to take your left hand off the wheel to press the clutch, your right hand to shift, how would you steer while shifting?

The clutch was to be mounted on a elongated shifter according to the OP. Just need one hand.

              Just like this.

The clutch handle would be mounted just like a bicycle handle and brake just vertically. The grip would then become your shifter and to disengage the clutch you grip the shifter like normal and squeze the handle.

This is a good one....I was actually thinking of doing this before. But now...my left leg can push the clutch pedal...thats why I can drive a manual tranny again. But still I want to see this done...so that it can ease up a little leg stress during traffic conditions. Good luck for the project

This will totally make for better burnouts, easier brake torquing since you don't need 3 feet to do it with.....When i was going to V8 swap my ranger the parts car was an auto so i was going to keep the clutch pedal and make it operate just the front brakes, stealth linelock.

                      Torque steer! Duh! :p

It's not for me either, but I'm excited to see a different way of driving. The model t Ford had a hand throttle two clutch pedals ( they were for each gear) and a brake pedal. I once had a tractor (IH) that was the same way. Wouldn't want my car to be like that, but i admire those who drive strange crap. Like granny shifters on choppers. Couldn't pay me enough to ride one of those death traps, but I have respect for the people who do.
I doubt you can mount a bike front brake M/C vertical, but look into those hydraulic hand brake setups. Wilwood sells those m/cs and that could work. The finger effort to pull in a car clutch is going to be extreme though, so either start eating spinach now or just cut to the Chase and put a bike engine in your car. Then it'll be a lot easier.

No bike engine is going in my car lol iam not sure if i will go this route with the clutch set up either, just thought it would be a cool idea.
But after some thinking it might not be to comfortable .
still would be cool to see done
