  • Another B6 swap

Hello. My name is Ted, and I am new here lol. Anyhow, I am thinking about doing a b6 swap in a Festiva. Now I have a 1986 Mazda 323 with an auto trans, I will be using as a parts car.

My questions are: What do I need to take to do the swap? What do I need to buy? and What else can I use from the 323 ( breaks, ect)? Now I read that the auto trannies had a three prong wire harness, and that the TPS will not hook up; so yea, I need help. I am also thinking about using the B6 ECU, but I am not sure how that will work, because the Festiva is standard.

    Thanks, Ted.

Well you shouldn't have to buy anything if your 323 B6 looks like your B3. It should be a fairly simple swap as far as the TPS they are a dime a dozen at the junk yard just find a TPS off a manual trans car. Now for the hard part of the swap the flywheels / clutch install a pilot bearing in the B6 crankshaft and you should be ready to install the engine. I know this is not alot of info but it should help you get started.

    Good Luck

Interesting. Could you please explain in more detail the clutch thing? It sort of blew right past me.

      Thanks, Ted.

I got you lol. Is there a cheap performance clutch out there for Festivas, I do not really care if the engagement is on/off so much.

I'm using a stage 1 from www.specclutch.com. It's holding well behind my BP engine. Nice pedal feel.
