  • Swift GT clutch info

After a intensive search, and a couple of emails I and still in need of some info.

I am planning the Swift clutch up-grade for my 90L+, B8-ME w/stock trans.

The info I could use is
    What year of Swift?
Any info on where to grind the bellhousing?
Any links to know good aftermarket clutches?

    Thanks guys.

expensive! i think skimsucka runs one but without running boost or nos you probably dont need it. im running b6 rear turbo pushing 140 hp & about 160 tq with my stock clutch & it only slips if i really thrash it like launching @ 4k rpm or on the interstate @ 130 mph in 5th:p

is the stock festiva flywheel and clutch no good for the swap at all or is this simply an upgrade?

Also, what year is the suzuki flywheel you've used? and do other years work?

You already know the answer to your first question. If you're using an E-series transmission, then the stock Festiva clutch and flywheel will work. This is simply an upgrade to a larger clutch disc and harder grabbing pressure plate.

The Suzuki flywheel is not used at all... the Festiva flywheel is flat-milled, ground, and drilled to accept the larger Swift pressure plate. Easy machine work. Further, the larger pressure plate requires extra clearance on the bell housing of the transmission and the starter nose.

What year? Last I checked the Suzuki Swift GT was sold from 1989-1994 in the North American market. Fortunately, beyond the Suzuki models, GM also sold one through Holden in the Australian market known as the Mk2 Barina MF that also came with the 1.3L engine/transmission combination as well.
