I haven't had much luck adapting pumps like this to Festy applications. I don't know why we cannot get OEM-style pumps anymore. The aftermarket ones, no matter what I do, invariably sound like a hive of bees when they're running. Maybe someone here can provide some tips.

I know the compatibility chart says no, but I'm think of the eventual upgrade.1963 Fairlane - future NSS drag car

I'm not sure what the part number is, bought my wolbro lightly used from a friend with a 92 protege. It did take a little modification to make it work but it works great. IIRC, I had to trim down the outlet tube and use a slightly longer rubber section on the sending unit assembly, used a strong zip-tie to hold it in place against the bracket. The only issue with the higher volume pumps is they are loud. It's a worthy trade off if you really need the extra flow.Im not driving a Festiva because I'm poor. I drive a Festiva because i want to!

Well, O'Reilly's starts out at $118 for a BesTech, their AirTex is $124, RockAuto's Airtex (cheapest brand I'd heard of before) is $88 + $8.50 shipping is $96, the same Airtex from the 'Zone is $119, Advanced Auto's Airtex is $120.
$73.50 with free shipping and it includes the strainer seems to be a good deal. This is in my car, not the wife's so I can deal with the louder pump.1963 Fairlane - future NSS drag car

I bet a layer of carpet padding would solve that issue. In love with a MadScientist!:thumbright:

The OEM pumps are silent. The Delphi (supposedly OEM replacement) versions sound like a hive of bees. Sound is 'friction' and that's why I get concerned about these sort-of-fit pumps. Disguising things behind insulated covers and thicker carpet, to me, is like turning the radio up when a wheel bearing is about to let go.

I used a Walbro 255 hp intended for an Eagle Talon. I had to change the wiring connector but the rest was direct bolt in. The pump is the same for each kit, essentially, but all the fittings vary. It is less hassle to get one for which the fittings match the Festi. I think I found the Talon fit from searching this site, actually. I can't say I can hear the pump at all, but it is a race car, so everything else is louder.Thricetiva replaced Icetiva as the new ride

My problem is, after sitting for hours, I need to crank the engine a long time to get it to start. I replaced the fuel filter with a WIX one thinking that may be the problem. It wasn't.1963 Fairlane - future NSS drag car

does the actual pump sit in fuel at all?
The other thing i was going to suggest was add the grommets to the mounting holes and insulate the tank.. either that or people with noisy pumps might just have dicky pumps. Have they got mates who've used these pumps before and complained about noise at all.Ford Festiva 1991 WA Model (5 Door)
