Im curruntly trying to find a maf that uses 5 volts. I got kicked out of autozone for reading all their books lol i was originally going to use the maf from an aspire. My thinking wa s the engines were the same size and the flows would be relitivly close but 3 burned out potentiometer s later im just going to find the 5 volt one,

You mean sends 5v max or is powered by 5v?
Any difference that makes no difference is no difference.

2 volts. Really. Hmm. Supposed to be 12, or so I thought, which would be an easy thing to do.

EDIT: Went back and looked at my Haynes. Does say 2 volts. That's weird. Modern MAFs are powered by 12v and have a separate ref, isolated grounds, just overall seem better than the older ones. I'm still waiting for mine in the mail.

I may still use it just need to figure out what combination of resistors will drop it by 3 volts.

I'd opt for a voltage regulator, a resistor will work but it limits your current and burns off a considerable amount of heat in the process (this is why you're burning out pots) have to be rated for quite a few watts.

The GM hotwire MAF is a pretty popular option, no go on that?
