  • Carb. Vacuum line Questions.

Ok, I'm trying to draw up a design for a CAI for my carb. Festiva, and was wondering if the vacuum line that hooks up before the filter, could be deleted since it runs to the "vapor?" canister under the battery. It doesn't have suction and doesn't bog down when unhooked. Another vacuum hose I though about plugging up was the one that has the blue marks on it that are on the driver side and runs to a sensor by the driver side strut tower. I will try to go out and get pictures, sorry.

P.S. Would adding a CAI change anything on a carb. car?

not worth the effort. if you think you need more flow, some 1.5" holes in the filter cover (outside the filter ring) will get you there.

if you're looking to gain anything from a carby, you'll need to start with a new carb (32/36, or escort)

Yeah, I know. I planned on doing the 32/36 conversion, but thought I'd add things to my current B3 carb. until I either swap engines or carb.s so that when I do the swap, I already have a cold air intake, etc, to build from.

nothing will easily swap over..., just save up and do it right all at once.
