Found out today that the news isn't that good - DOHC with fseries transmission.

just curious to know if anyone has done the DOHC and f-series transmission swap into a 89-89 festiva and can they give me some ideas about the mounts.

My main concern now, after schooling myself about my trans.. my main concerns are:-

That the F-series is simiilar to the Gseries in length or mounting.

can someone tell me the comparative differences between the F & G Series mounts?

the reason i ask is simply because if this doesn't work, i will be sticking to the e series until i can find a suitable replacement for the transmission.

If I were you I would forget all about swapping transmissions and only swap the motors. The stock e series is where it needs to be. Keep it simple, stop overcomplicating 2 hours worth of work.

Are you doin a bp or b6d if your going b6d the e will hold up just fine and a stock replacment clutch will get the job done. It has for me for over a year although i don't dump my clutch or spin tires.

so it's better to just go e or g? ok.. how would the stock clutch hold up can i ask? or is it a case of too much slip?

Don't allow wheel hop and don't do burn outs and you will be fine. And the stock clutch won't hold out. There are a few threads out there on upgraded clutches.
