  • Rocketman Carb Adapter

I'm nearing completion of my tooling for my carbdapters, I should have one cast within the next week. What size are the studs generally used on the Weber side?

Is there anyone in my area willing to come to my shop for an afternoon to test fitment of one of these? You'll get to keep it

Here are my patterns that I've got so far. Festy flange on one side, 32/36 on the other. Could drill & tap it for an Escort carb as well if someone gave me the measurements.

    More soon. -Rocket

If I was close by I would love to be the test dummy, awesome work as always.

No local places anymore, unfortunately. I'm doing this 100% myself start to finish: CAD work, patternwork, molding, casting, machining. I'll post pictures from the rest of the process as I get there

very interested in seeing that, especially the mold making, the sand used, and how you heat up the metal to melting point at home. i was toying with the idea of casting a bp26 manifold with a t3 flange but i dont have the proper tools for such a thing.

I have a whole foundry setup in my backyard - sand, sand muller, furnace, flasks (mold boxes) etc. I'll document the rest of "making of" these adapters for all to see.

It's been a backburner project for me for many years now, but I plan on setting up a group buy (I don't cast iron at the moment) for both BP + B6T castiron manifolds with T25/T3 flanges sometime this year. I want to prototype my designs in Aluminum first, so I can physically check fitment before going any further. I've done the layout work for the B6T - hope to post up some progress on that soon. Cast iron turbo manifold that would bolt to the stock B3 head is not out of the question, either.

Finished up the tooling enough to do a test pour today. Here's the first raw casting - finish is good, needs some small refinements here & there but overall very happy with it. I'll machine this up in the next couple days.

Still need a volunteer to test fitment for me!

Thanks man! Don't worry I'll have plenty of stuff out eventually that you can use

                        Machined the flanges flat today:

I have to get the Digital Readout install finished on my mill & then I'll drill out the mounting holes

I have contemplated adding a boss to the distributor side that can be drilled/tapped for like 3/4 NPT or whatever you like, so you can have an extra large vacuum source or injection area if needed. I might not do this on every one but could do it on request

The wall thickness on the casting is 5-6mm or about 1/4" so it can be drilled & tapped for smaller items anywhere

The inside is a super smooth transition from one port to the next. Some porting will be needed with the small bumps on the inside of the manifold to match but seems like everyone does this, when going to the Weber they stick way out in the way.

Here's the core that's used to form the inside of the adapter. Nice, smooth & gradual tapers
