I understand there is a gas mileage cam and various street more aggressive grinds or sale for under $200 I was wondering if anyone but I just wondered if anyone put on a cam gear and played around and see if there confirmed intermdiate output in the meantime

I don't mean alter a cam I mean advance a retard the cam that is already in all of the Festivas and see if there is merit to messing with it as it is with adjustable cam gear1993 GL 5 speed

the only thing i would do is advance the cam up to 2* and no more than that. there's no use in retarding the cam any as the bottom end completely dropps off.... no power at all.Trees aren't kind to me...
currently: 2 88Ls (Scrappy and Jersey), 88LX, 90L(Pepe), 91L, 91GL (Skippy) 93 GL Sport (the Mighty Favakk), 94 (Bruce) & 95 Aspire SEs, 97 Aspire (The Joker),
94 Justy 4WD, 87 Fiero GT, plus 2 parts cars. That's my fleet.

aspire cam specs are the same as well? Is friction loss the only difference in the two full assemblies? I have an aspire head, going roller is tempting but this current car runs so well id rather just buy the regular cam and just go with that, as the math in fuel savings would be even better for me as i do about 600 miles a week. Going to larger heavier tires...the more bottom end where it's needed the better. Yes im more concerned with moving the tq around. If you want more hp you first put the 1.3 on a pallet.1993 GL 5 speed

You wil gain little to nothing by swaping in a stock roller cam, thats why mazda didnt increase the hp rating on the aspire, mpg cam would suit your needs BTW, engine displacement has little to do this its abillity to produce power. We build engines for several customers in several N/A racing classes with 301-440 ci limits and we win with 360 ci.PROPOGATE! AND FACILITATE!

Agree and disagree. Staying with this car or its cousins, direct competition ,you need displacement to run n/a, 87 octane keep 40 mpg and have 100hp--like the b8 or dohc 1.6. Can you move the air thru this head without compression pistons or moving the Rpm out of its mpg home base. "Racing" translate in most cases to not a festiva budget. Dont get me wrong youre gonna get an order placed from me next pay period!1993 GL 5 speed

Wow. I don't doubt it, "production tolerances." Shop car is stock bottom end as well? that is crazy that the head is that bad. Have you worked magic into the old b6 too?1993 GL 5 speed
