  • tuning weber/ adjusting timing /vaccum advance

Have a stock b3 with a weber swap. Im getting alot of detonation under load.
My car has sat for 2yrs and has stale gas in itut i got rid of old gas today.
Gonna put good gas in and c what happens.
Questions are what is stock timing set?
Which vaccum line to dizzy advance do i use and where to put it?
This carb is used and was on a samurai but ran good.
Also what size jets are weber owners running for stock?
Thanx for all the help in advance

carb B3 is set to 0* advance stock. i typicaly run 6* advance without issue.
red striped hose goes to the lower barb on the dizzy.

Use the vacuum fitting on the carb below the choke for vacuum advance. Plug the old location. I have an aftermarket ignition so mine may be different but I run my timing at 12". Even original mine wouldn't run well at 0" which is what the book says. Check close for vacuum leaks. My vacuum advance leaked on mine when I first got it. Had to replace the distributor. The jet sizes I gave you really should be a good start. My old B3 ran good set up like that. Good luck!

How should the two vacuum fittings on the carby distributor be hooked up?

Dont hook up top one leave it off.
The bottom one on dizzy goes to the only port on the back of the carb thats it.

I hooked them together. gives a few more degrees of advance. I don't know exactly how much, but the bottom connector advances so many degrees, and the top connector goes a few more. Just plug the places on the intake where they used to go. My car is peppy and doesn't ping at all. It's been like that for nearly a year and I haven't "holed" a piston yet. Try it, you'll like it!

I took cap off dizzy and just sucked on the lines and looked like the bottom port advanced further to me that's y I used it but achieved same results either way.
