Also try to get the transmission, flywheel, clutch and axles.

i am getting the trans and axels but the trans might be junk. If so will a n/a capri trans work and be just as strong.

No, you need the trans from the XR2 or the Mazda 323 GT. The escort GT has the same tranny with a hyd. clutch that you could use too.
