anybody increce the horsepower of the stock Aspire engine from 63? I'd like to know how that is working for you! I got an Aspire engine a 1994 with about 200,000 sitting and would like to try to use it for a project if i got time (maybe!) with maybe a Festiva 5 speed, NOT AN ASPIRE 5 SPEED! swap or auto tranny

Yes! I'm at approx 75.
And even though the extra power is noticeable.
I would like to have more.

I was not being sarcastic.
I have a k&n filter rd-0700
It has a velocity stack built in to help smooth out the air flow over the maf and 2.5" I.d. to match maf opening size.
It also is the smallest size filter I could find.
it keeps air intake velocity high.
That way I didn't lose any low end power installing too large a filter and slowing down intake flow.
And I have a full header back exhaust.
Dae header with flex bellow
Magnaflow cat 2" in/out
Magnaflow 18" resonator 2" in/out
Magnaflow 2" in/out, straight through, center center stock sized muffler.
Dae adjustable fuel pressure regulator
The full exhaust was the money maker after ignition adjustments and bumping up the fuel pressure.
It made a huge difference in feel/power.
My scanguage II has a hp gauge.
And stock at 5000rpms it would show 63-64hp
Which I always assumed was fairly accurate seeing it matched well to stock specs.
Also it reads from the engine data meaning crank hp.
And after the exhaust install it now sits at 75hp at 5000rpms on the scanguage II.
Now before anyone criticises the scanguage or my statements.
Let's first review some correllations.
Now a stock aspire puts out
63hp@ the crank & 54@ the wheels.
Now using those stock numbers you extrapolate a %15 drivetrain loss approx.
So at 75hp@ the crank you would have 64hp@the wheels approx.
Now last but not least dickmeyer in one of his threads mentioned the power produced @ the wheels from different mods.
He said stock was 54hp
After header was 64hp
And header+sheet metal intake 74hp
I understand without a dyno people may just disregard my info.
And that I understand.

My butt dyno was within 1 hp and 1 ft.lb when I tested Tweak. Lol. It gets calibrated quite often though.Driving for me is neither a right nor a privilege.
