Tranny swap

Hello, I'm new to the feisty forum and I wasn't sure where to post this at.
I have a 93 festiva. Automatic. But it SUCKS not having a 5-speed. And I was looking into swapping the engine with either a bp or a b6t.ive already priced them out and I'm still deciding which one I'll do but if I wanted to Change it from an automatic to a manual what kind of Trany would I get?

Depends if you want reliable or easy to find. Get the transmition attached to that b6t and you should be golden. Get the shafts also

Miata's are rear wheel drive. You need the transmission from a Mercury Capri XR2 along with the complete axle/half shafts.
You could also use a 91-96 Escort GT transmission but you will have to convert it from a hydraulic clutch to a cable OR convert your Festiva to use the hydraulics from the Escort GT for the clutch.

There are several cars that the trans will work also.
Mazda 323 GT trans
Several "F" series trans that will work depending on your plans for the car.

To convert from auto to manual, you need the linkage, and pedals from a Festiva. Clutch, pressure plate would need to match the transmission you plan to use

so if I'm looking for an easy swap what would be the easiest and cheapest to do that will all come together easily and one day have a possibility to have a turbo put on?

so i just found out that my engine has blow by and i might have to do the engine swap sooner then later.

would i still be able to swap in a bp or b6t in there with the auto tranny and swap out the tray later or is it best to do it all at once?
