  • Tranny Oil Change 90 festy 5spd

Hello all friends changed transmission oil today, axle seal are "wet'210,000 KM , I added 12oz Lucas transmission additive, then ATF, took it for a drive WOW , so much change for noise ( on highway ) so QUIET!!! I used this in all front wheel vehicles. No filing or chunks on the old oil it was fairly clean. Love my festy so much I use K&N oil filter HP1004 holds the oil in the filter does not drain back 400 ml Lucas engine oil additive & Napa semi syn 5W30 oil,new oil drain plug & gasket. Road trip from Saskatoon Sk to Edmonton Ab & back over the Easter weekend. I have confident in my festy wife & 12 yr son don't.

Pennzoil Syncromesh is really good alternative to the ATF.

I am not big on Lucas, all their stuff is like super thick syrup like stuff.

      She'll make it !!!!
Good luck and I hope you have a good easter weekend trip.
I may have to try some of that Lucas trans additive I use there oil additives and love em. My 300xxx mile 5 speed craped out on me and I replaced it with a higher milage 4 speed and it's kinda noisy a slow speeds.
Torque Lucas now has a full synthetic that it's a lot thinner it says tough enough for a semi thin enough for an import or something to that effect.

my dad when he owned his first festiva, did his own manual tranny oil change and did knot know they take ATF so he just used 90w gear oil and power punch.... I can say that tranny outlived the engine.... he had to let the tranny warm up as to not bend the shift fork..... now the Aspire manual trannys are the worst piece of garbage on the planit (I know the gears are too small).... might as well stick a Festiva tranny in my aspire next time it blows up after trying 90w gear oil in another Aspire tranny

I did 10000km in 14 days with my wife and three youngest (then 10, 12 & 15) in the Festiva. We've done lots of other trips as well, some of which we blogged (link in my signature).

          Have a great weekend!
