i don't remember this being brought up and couldn't find it in search. do you need to use a 1.8L intermediate shaft if you're going to install a 1.8BP & G trans into a festiva? i'm thinking the capri shaft might not work since the block is a little longer. this Sephia 1.8 shaft is available from 4G for the US 98-2000 model with 1.8. comparing this pic with a capri shaft, the Sephia shaft has the bearing more towards the center of the bracket than the capri shaft.

The BP int shaft is longer then the capri's, that why it won't work, but you're also right that the Capri int shaft won't bolt to the BP which is why people either modify the int shaft or build a mounting plate for the int shaft

If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?

The bolt holes on the bracket on the Capri int shaft line up with the BP but they're roughly 1" offset.... So basically if you could "slide" the capris bracket on the shaft over an inch, it would bolt up.... But I don't think that can be done or else someone would have done it by now lol
