so i have a bp stuffed in my festiva and i can get a mx-3 trans for free i guess my main question is what axles i need to use for it seeing as its an f series

That trans is a hydraulic clutch so you will either need to adapt to cable or swap the hydraulic system in.

You can use stock festy *automatic* axles, or axles from a BF chassis car like the 323, tracer, capri, etc.
