Swap gas tanks, fuel lines, wiring harness, and pretty much everything under the hood that is related to the engine. Its not hard, just very time consuming. It helps that you have a parts car.
This has been discussed before many times and you should be able to find quite a few posts on the topic with more detail.Last edited by nonamekid; 10-26-2014, 09:21 PM.The Festiva Store

It's not too bad. I have a 88 that I swapped to efi harness. I didn't swap the tank and added my own fuel pump for turbo out of the tank. You just need every wire from a efi car.1988 Ford Festiva "Sonic" BPT g25mr MS2 standalone ecu, FOTY '11, Best Beater FMV, Fan Favorite FMVI

You don't necessarily have to swap the dash and body harnesses. You can splice the EFI plugs on to them. Pulling/installing the dash harness is a major pain IMO, and I found it easier to just splice a few wires. A lot of them could be transferred over to the new plugs w/ no splicing. Then you don't end up with all the seatbelt wiring and other crap from the 90+ festy's in your body harness either.
whichever seems easiest to you.~Nate

It's not bad just takes I'd say a weekend got to go to jy and find a good donor with no cut wires and not been wet inside and start by taking out the interior all leave the dash for last now when you take out the dash get tape and mark you plug ends were they all went when you start un hooking them then when dash is out take the harness that is left in the dash you will need it to swap to yours or yon could just swap the dash up to you. then go to the tail lights and start un plugging the wiring harness and mark any plugs or connections that you will not remember if new at wrenching mark all of them it's better to take your time now and not have to redo it later after you follow the harness up to the driver side of the car it will unplug and then all that is left is the engine you will have to feed the harness that is in the car just the plug ends out the small hole behind the hood release cable you will see it. then you unhook the wiring out from under the hood take all sensors that are hooked to plug ends you will have to remove the inner fender on the driver side to when you are feeding the wires out. and as for the in line fuel pump it is not worth it just get the tank and change it out it's simple and it's closer to stock the in line fuel pumps are loud and if you change the gas tank out then your gas hand will work because you can plug your sending unit up. I have been there and done that if you got any questions just ask
