well the max rev point for the b3 is the rev limiter which I believe is 5800 rpms. I don't know what you mean by the perfect shift though.

I think he wanted to know the perfect shift point (rpm's) to achieve maximum performance

well to achive max perforamce you should shift when you are makin the most HP & the rpm's should drop to the point the motor makes the most torque.

Well thats how its suppose to be

you want to go all the way to redline because the b3 makes a lot of its power in the higher rpm and also if you shift at redline it drops you right in the torque and hp curve

Every car I have owned has had a turbo in it, until I bought this latest festiva.. I plan to fix that though.

Im not to sure for the festiva, but for the aspire I would shift at 5k rpm for optimal acceleration. Peak hp is at 5k and peak tq is at 3k. Usually shifting at 5k puts you around 3500-4000 rpms

I would think you should shift just after peak torque or hp. That way, you will "drop into" a more powerful part of your engine speed. Center the peak area and you will reap the benefits of both sides of the peak area.

Shift right at the most powerful part of the engine speed and you will constantly be coming up into the peak area. Thus, you will have a lower power average.

              Does this make sense?
