Auto Tranny swap from Escort to Festiva

I appologize if this has been discussed before I searched and couldn't find anything. Is it possible or even feasible to swap the 4 speed automatic from a 91-96 escort into an already auto festiva? The reason I ask if that, wouldn't a 4th gear help the mpg over a 3 speed?

The only 4 speed auto I know that's been successfully swapped into a festiva is from the 88-89 323's although i don't know exactly what was involved
