my last festy was a B3 Carb. I got 44 MPG out of it and it would move quick(for a stock car) Im think of doing a B6 or B8 (more B8). I dont want to use EFI! I would like to modify as little as possible! Need I say more. Im open to suggestions, uncommon sense says that if a carbed b3 can get 44 then if possible a carbed b8 (CAN) get 35-38?

B8 has wider cylinder spacing, so no.

You could try to import a carb manifold, from Australia or something.

someone said that the b3 b6 and b8 were the same block is that inaccurate. what about the b6 woudl the intake and weber work for that. just want a bit more power with minimal moding... not great with a welder

It sounds like you are searching for an extra set of KB Laser twin carbs + adapter that I just happen to have for sale.

no money right now just trying to get a plan in place... ill buy the engine after i figure out which ones can be made carbed easiest and rebuild it then start the swap

Yes, that is in accurate.

B3 and B6 have similar intake and exhaust spacing, the B8 is further spread out.

so am i right to assume(dont say it) that a carbed b6 or b8 SOHC is not possible, without a crap ton of labor

Late 80s SOHC 8 valve B6 is about all you're gonna be able to get or be able to do in a carbed setup. None of the EFI-only motors (namely 16 valve SOHC and DOHC B6 and B8 stuff) have any existing arrangements for carburetors.

Anything custom takes time or money, sometimes both.

I mean shoot I'm spending 3 hrs a piece carving discontinued bushings by hand lol.


If this is some thing you really wanna do.
Take your time.
Formulate a solid plan.
Assemble all necessary parts one by one over time.
Assemble all relevant information to what you intend to do.
Pick a day, then go for it.

I'm sure many satisfied gearheads would tell you
a lot of the satisfaction in building vehicles
is putting those hours of personal effort into your vehicle.
Pouring your goals and dreams into physical labor to turn them into reality.
It can be frustrating but very rewarding.
